Distracting props and items
When parents start to arrive at the arena it can become very real that this is it – tonight is your concert! Children all of a sudden have loads of energy. Parents are climbing over each other to see their child in the mass choir. It is all VERY exciting.
One thing that many schools do is bring items that helps them stand out from the rest of the choir. Glow sticks, funky hats, flashing banners, glow wands and many more. These are great for that hour between 18:00 and 19:00 when parents are arriving.
However, at 19:00 when the lights go down, all of these items must be turned off and put under your seat. They are a huge distraction during the concert.
If the items are not turned off or put under your seat before the start of the concert, YV staff will be around to remove these items completely.
