One of the UK's most endearing and popular soul/jazz artists, singer-songwriter, Natalie Williams has 7 critically acclaimed albums under her belt and a dedicated following that extends throughout the world.
“One of the UK’s hottest singers...she effortlessly moves from soul-diva to sensual and sophisticated jazz.”
“The moment she starts to sing she becomes a commanding, strutting presence, scatting with an infectious relish.”
Her residency, Soul Family Sunday's has sold out every month for 10 years and has seen her perform to over 30,000 fans at the world renown Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. Natalie has toured the globe as both a solo artist and lead vocalist of jazz funk sensation, Incognito, and has performed at the world's leading live music events and venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican Centre, Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Rochester Jazz Festival, BB Kings in New York, Jakarta Jazz Festival in Indonesia, Blue Note in Tokyo, Love Supreme Festival, Glastonbury Festival and many more. She is a favourite of the London Jazz Festival, having hosted sell out shows for many years.
She has appeared as a featured artist with DnB producer and DJ, Nu:Tone, collaborated with numerous acts including Jamie Cullum, The Heritage Orchestra, Goldie, Bugz In The Attic, Shlomo as well as having performed with and alongside Amy Winehouse, John Legend, Lemar, Alison Moyet, Babyface, Kurt Elling and Mario Biondi. Although mainly known as a solo artist, Natalie has enjoyed singing backing vocals for Cee-Lo Green, Ed Sheeran and Laura Mvula.
August of 2016 saw her supporting the legendary Herbie Hancock on the Queen Mary 2 crossing from Southampton to New York and her most recent album ‘Kaleidoscope’ was greatly supported by Jazz Fm who playlisted her duet with the virtuosic multi-instrumentalist, Jacob Collier, on Billy Joel’s ‘For The Longest Time’.
She is adored as much for her unique interpretations of popular songs, ranging from Sting's ‘Brought to My Senses’, Bjork’s ‘Hyperballad’ to Minnie Riperton's ‘Inside My Love’, as she is for her own, much loved original material.
Natalie Williams’ drive and fluidly evolving artistry is undeniable – a drive that was rewarded in October 2010 when she was nominated for a MOBO Award for best UK soul, in a category alongside internationally recognised artists Sade, Corinne Bailey-Rae and Plan B. Whether she’s featuring as a sensational singer-songwriter, producer, promoter, or champion of burgeoning talent, she’ll forever be the epitome of a true artist.
Lance Liddle (Bebop Spoken Here) describes a recent live show:
"..We got a raunchy, no holds barred, performance that merged soul, jazz, funk and rock into a sizzling inferno of sound.... The lady has the most incredible vocal chops with a range that reaches stratospheric heights without loss of intonation or emotion.”
…”People can’t help but go away with a bit of Williams’ natural sparkle having attached itself to them”
"Absolutely Incredible what they can do with just their mouths!"
"How cool was that? That was unbelieable!"
